PSM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator (Defence Control Tower) to join a leading organisation within the logistics sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in planning and managing defence logistics solutions throughout Europe and worldwide. You will operate within strict time constraints, ensuring all schedules, regulatory requirements, and customer deadlines are met while supporting critical defence supply chains.

About the Role

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing time-critical defence logistics operations, ensuring all shipments are managed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), client requirements, and regulatory compliance. Working within a fast-paced Control Tower environment, you will maintain full operational visibility of shipments and ensure the secure, compliant movement of defence-related cargo.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage defence logistics solutions throughout Europe and worldwide.
• Coordinate daily Control Tower activities, ensuring all shipments are managed in line with defined workflows and SOPs.
• Maintain real-time visibility of all active shipments and critical movements.
• Ensure structured shift handovers to maintain operational continuity.
• Monitor and manage shipments against agreed escalation processes and criticality thresholds.
• Liaise with internal teams, customers, and international partners to resolve operational enquiries.
• Ensure compliance with UK and EU export control regulations, customs requirements, and internal procedures.
• Verify licensing and permit requirements, including BPSS and Security Cleared (SC) driver requirements where applicable.
• Maintain accurate audit trails for shipment acceptance, movement, and compliance.
• Support the secure handling of defence cargo in line with security requirements.
• Participate in an on-call rota to support critical operations outside normal working hours.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of freight procedures, customs regulations, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience within defence logistics or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
