PSM Recruitment is working with a well-established and respected international logistics business in Dover to recruit an experienced Customs Clearance Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, supportive team where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders. This position operates on 12-hour day and night shifts, offering a varied and fast-paced working environment.

As a Customs Clearance Clerk, you'll be responsible for ensuring Customs declarations are completed accurately and efficiently, helping to keep freight moving while maintaining full compliance with Customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing Customs declarations and associated documentation
• Accurately entering information into Customs systems
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, internal departments and Customs authorities
• Resolving Customs queries quickly and professionally
• Monitoring shipments and proactively dealing with any issues
• Ensuring compliance with current Customs legislation and procedures
• Working closely with colleagues to provide an efficient end-to-end Customs clearance service

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of 3 years' current Customs Clearance experience
• A strong understanding of UK Customs procedures and compliance
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good IT skills and experience using Customs software
